Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, Inc. – Notice of Intent to Apply for CDBG-DR Funding
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, Inc. (CBHC) intends to apply for funding through the FloridaCommerce Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Hazard Mitigation Grant Match Program (HMGMP). This application seeks funding to support the installation of a permanent generator at CBHC’s Central Receiving Facility, ensuring uninterrupted operations during power outages.
Project Overview
CBHC was awarded funding through FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), Project Number 4673-052-R, to install a fixed backup generator at its Central Receiving Facility in Punta Gorda, Florida. The generator is critical to maintaining essential behavioral health services, including inpatient psychiatric care, detoxification services, and a 24/7 crisis hotline, especially during and after natural disasters.

- Total Project Cost: $348,285.00
- FEMA Awarded Federal Share: $261,213.75
- Local Match Requirement: $87,071.25
- CDBG-DR HMGMP Funding Requested: $87,071.25
CBHC is requesting funding through FloridaCommerce’s CDBG-DR HMGMP program to cover the local cost-share requirement for this project.
Public Comment Period
CBHC invites public comments regarding this proposed application. The public comment period will remain open for 10 days, beginning February 28, 2025, and ending March 10, 2025.
