What is Teleservices?

Teleservices is the delivery of health related services through electronic communication. What that means for our patients is that they can have their therapy session  using a  computer or

Patient, sitting at home, speaks with his therapist using a smartphone.

smartphone.

Basically, teleservices allows you to see your therapist from the comfort of your own home, while sitting in the car, or on your lunch break. It’s healthcare in the palm of your hand, from anywhere! All you need to participate in teletherapy is an electronic device with a camera, audio, and internet.

Here are just a few of the many benefits:

  • Allows patients to see a therapist without hassle or a long commute
  • Provides convenient access to treatment for out-of-town or rural patients
  • Provides invaluable conveniences to busy patients, like missed work, less commute, no childcare arrangements
  • Delivers more cost-effective healthcare

Requirements of Participation

  1. CBHC has a 48-hour cancellation policy and has adopted a zero-tolerance rule for not showing for your teleservices appointment. If you don’t sign in and connect with your provider at the designated time, it will be considered a no-show, and you will be asked to return to services at one of our office locations.
  2. The Confidentiality and Mandated Reporter requirements of your session are the same as though you are sitting in our offices. The door is shut and white noise machines are being utilized. Limits to confidentiality remain the same with teleservices – confidentiality will be broken if you are a risk to self or others or are being abused, neglected or abandoned. To insure confidentiality, it’s important that, when participating in teleservices, you choose a location that will allow for privacy and confidentiality to be maintained.
  3. If payment is required for the service, the provider will obtain a credit or debit card number from you and the payment will be processed at the end of the day services were received. CBHC does not keep credit/debit card information on file – so this information will be asked for at the beginning of each session.
