Matthews-Ferrari Receives Medical Professional of the Year
Charlotte Behavioral Health Care is proud to announce that its Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Katina Matthews-Ferrari, MD, was recently honored with the prestigious title of Medical Professional of the Year by the Florida Behavioral Health Association (FBHA). This recognition highlights Matthews’s exceptional contributions to the field of behavioral health and dedication to patient care.
Matthews-Ferrari has been an integral part of CBHC for more than 30 years. Under her leadership, the agency has seen significant improvements in patient outcomes, particularly during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the demand for behavioral health services surged. She has been involved in behavioral health since 1983, and previously served on the faculty at the University of Florida in both the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Psychiatry. She is Board Certified in both general Psychiatry and in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She is a Fellow in the American Psychiatric Association (APA) as well as the Florida Psychiatric Association, and she is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP).

The Florida Behavioral Health Association is a statewide organization representing over 70 community-based behavioral health providers. The Medical Provider of the Year award is one of the highest honors given by the FBHA, recognizing outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to behavioral health care in Florida.
